Description:
Three days before the Summer 2020 Tokyo Olympics, an incident happened to my family. I sleep to know everything. Kenji Kamiyama presents a story about myself and dreams. Why do people dream? Unconscious stress and dryness of the mind that we are not aware of. Perhaps it is the role of dreams to supplement something that is missing in our minds like a supplement. Director Kenji Kamiyama has chosen "dreams" as the motif of his new film. Director Kamiyama has been creating profound world settings in science fiction and fantasy and depicting human dramas within them. This is the first original animated feature film that Kamiyama wrote the original story and screenplay for and directed himself. It is the summer of 2020, just before the Tokyo Olympics. The protagonist of the story is an ordinary high school girl. Her only skill is that she can sleep anywhere. Recently, she begins to have the same dream. At the same time, her reality begins to distort and she realizes that the secret lies in her dreams. In order to solve the case, Kokone travels to Tokyo, but it is also a journey to find the Watashi she never expected to find. Set in the future, a little ahead of the present, a road movie is born, thrillingly moving back and forth between dream and reality.Kokone will be played by Mitsuki Takahata, an actress who has been in the limelight for many dramas and movies. This will be her first participation in an animated film. The cast also includes such talented actors as Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Arata Furuta, Rie Kugimiya, Wataru Takagi, Tomoya Maeno, Risa Shimizu, Hideki Takahashi, and Yosuke Eguchi. This film also incorporates as important elements the various motifs that director Kamiyama has depicted in the past, such as "AI," "networks," and "wishes for the future. In this respect, the film is the culmination of Kamiyama's career. The theme song is the famous song "Day Dream Believer. Mitsuki Takahata sings this song about dreams and feelings for those who have left us as the main character, Kokone Morikawa. What should animation depict now? By focusing on the world around us through dreams, "Princess Hirune" gently pushes the backs of audiences living in uncertain times.
