This album entitled "Letter Letters" is a collection of choral works that combines music with letters of great importance to mankind. English composer Tariq O'Regan's "Letter of Right" is a cantata composed to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the enactment of the Magna Carta (one of the laws comprising the Unconstitutional Constitution of the United Kingdom of Great Britain) in 1215. Scriptwriter Alice Goodman used the text of Articles 39 and 40 from the 63-article document and set them to music in eight sections. Fennessy's "Trilogy" consists of three pieces: "Letter to Michael," written by a mentally deranged woman to her husband; "I Don't Remember," a heartfelt cry from a person who has lost his memory; and "Refrain of Hashima," which combines graffiti on the wall of a building on Hashima Island (Gunkanjima), a desert island in Japan, and text from a class diary, It is a suite of musings on existence, expectation and longing, and absolute being.
