Requiems" have been created by numerous composers. Among them, this work introduces an unknown work by Djimon Maire (1763-1845). This piece was probably performed for the funeral of Terzi, a painter active in Bergamo, and research has shown that Maile made revisions and corrections to several small parts originally composed by Donizetti, a pupil of his. There is a haunting beauty in this simple, unglamorous requiem, and it has a charm that makes one want to listen to it again and again.
