Unlike the piano, the violin is essentially the central instrument in an orchestra. In a concerto, however, it must face the orchestra alone. Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," which is well known to everyone, was originally a violin concerto, with a solo violin that sounds beautiful throughout the entire work, like the chirping of birds. Mozart probably would have demonstrated his virtuosity as a soloist himself. If you listen again to Mendelssohn's concerto, which you heard in music class long ago, you can confirm what wonderful music it is, can't you? And Paganini's violin, which is said to have "sold its soul to the devil," is known to have inspired the "piano wizard" Liszt.
