The title "Femme Fatale" means "femme fatale" or "femme fatale" in French. Overseas arrangers include John Lind (writer of Madonna's "Crazy for You"), Mark Goldenberg formerly of the Critones (who wrote songs for Linda Ronstadt and others), Scott Wilk (responsible for Billy Idol), and Joey Carbone. International musicians included Peter Frampton, formerly of Humble Pie, Steve Farris of Mr. Mister, and Michael Thompson on guitar, and Bill Meyers on keyboards. The work strip at the time read, "TAKE UP A NEW FASHION!!!! All the songs on the album are "all danceable rhythms" as the catchphrase "danceable and full of beat" suggests.
