The two tracks recorded here are masterpieces of the early stereo era, and were also released in our series in 2010 as GS-2049. The GS-2303 uses a 2-track, 38 cm open-reel tape, and the sound quality is so fresh and lush that it is hard to believe that it was recorded in 1956. The commentary on the score used for "The Rite of Spring" by Kazumasa Kiba is a valuable document that verifies facts discovered after the old GS-2049 and has been substantially revised.
