Previously unreleased Cream live show that set London ablaze in 1967! 7 songs from the January 1967 show at the Rickety Chick Club, 8 songs from the May 1967 show at the Marquee Club, and 8 songs from the "ROCK OFF" series on Eternal Grooves. Live at the Marquee Club, May 1967, 8 songs, from Eternal Grooves' "ROCK OFF" series! 1967 was a memorable year for Cream, and for rock history. The band had been playing live on stage many times and the rumors were spreading not only in the U.K. but also around the world. The band then secured a contract with the prestigious Atlantic Records in the United States. Their second album, "Colorful Cream (Disraeli Gears)," which would later become a historical blues-rock classic, was recorded in May and released in the fall. The two live performances recorded here are from that period. The first is a seven-song set from an intense January 1967 show at the Ricky Tick Club, a small venue in their hometown of London. This club was also the venue where the live scene in Michelangelo Antonioni's film "Desire" featuring the Yardbirds was filmed. After the band call, they have already performed "Sunshine Love," which will be recorded in May, in a realistic atmosphere where you can hear the count of Clapton's voice. The three musicians, E. Clapton, J. Bruce, and G. Baker, are all so unique that you can feel their joy in playing together and their excitement for this band. The next recording is a secret live performance at the Marquee Club, a famous live house in London, in May 1967, after the band recorded their second album "Colorful Cream" with producer F. Paparaldi, who encouraged the band's growth. Although it is not an official recording and the sound quality is a little bit poor, it is a historical source that does not matter in front of the intense live performance that took place at the long-established Marquee Club during this period of the band's rapid growth.The audience applauded Clapton's strong guitar solo in the second half of "Sweet Wine" in London in the spring of 1967. Jimi Hendrix had hit with Purple Haze, and the Beatles were about to release Sgt. Peppers. I hope you can feel the atmosphere of that era, when the wave of psychedelic music was surging into Swinging London. This is a previously unreleased live performance of Cream from 1967. This is from the "ROCK OFF" series by Eternal Grooves.
