Remi Barrault's complete symphonic works in St. Florian, a sacred place for Bruckner performances, collected as a box set with new recordings! St. Florian Monastery in St. Florian, a suburb of Linz, where Anton Bruckner once sang in the choir and served as organist, is now the site of his grave. It is here that monumental Bruckner performances by masters such as the No. 7 by Takashi Asahina and the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra in the old days and the No. 8 by Karajan and Boulez with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra have been held. In 1996, the Orchestre Philharmonique de St. Florian Altomonte and the Bruckner-Tage Festival were founded to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bruckner's death. This box set contains live recordings of 10 symphonies conducted by its permanent conductor, Remi Barrault (No. 6 and No. 8 were performed by the Upper Austria Youth Symphony Orchestra).
