The first installment of a new project spun by the Vaucher Quartet together with splendid guests! POETIQUES DE L'INSTANT, a new project by the Vaucher Quartet. This is the first installment of a project in which Debussy and Ravel's masterpieces for string quartet are arranged together with other works and new pieces to form a program that relates them like a pair of paintings. Debussy's masterpiece for string quartet is beautifully played with a pleasant tension, while the sonata played by the virtuosos Hurel and Seysson with Becker on viola offers exciting music that captures well its advanced nature. The "Fragments Dancing in the Wind" for string quartet by Yves Balmer, professor at the Conservatoire de Paris, inspired by the work of Philippe Jacotet, a poet from the Walloon region of Belgium, is an intense expression that incorporates noise. This is one culmination, and the "Lyrical Prose," a song Debussy composed to his own prose and arranged by Balmer for string quartet and soprano, closes with a beautifully trailing aftertaste, featuring Devos, who has been remarkably active.
