Composer Ondrej Adamek was born in Prague in 1979. He studied in the Czech Republic and Paris, and while working as a conductor, he has produced works in a variety of genres, from orchestral to chamber music, song, and electroacoustic. He has received many prestigious awards. His works combine voice with movement, gesture, and theatricality, sometimes using specially developed instruments to give them a unique character. This album includes two world premieres. WHERE ARE YOU?" for mezzo-soprano and orchestra explores the question "Where do we come from and where are we going?" and is performed by big stars Magdalena Kozena and Simon Rattle. 35 minutes long in 11 parts, the piece features an exciting rhythmic songs with narration backed by the sounds of the orchestra. Isabelle Faust is the soloist in "Follow me," in which the melody is divided between soloist and orchestra, following the late medieval technique of hochet (a technique in which words uttered independently by several players are linked together to form a single rhythm or melody).It is a mysterious music in which the impressive opening solo melody gradually changes form and spreads throughout the orchestra.
