Max Bruch was a German Romantic composer. Although he left many works full of fascinating melodies, we can hear only "Violin Concerto No. 1," "Scottish Fantasy," "Kol Nidrei," and a few others today. The three symphonies composed between 1868 and 1882 were originally conceived as a trilogy of heroic tales. The Symphony No. 3, composed in 1882, is now known in a revised four-movement version, but the original five-movement version is performed here. Robert Trevino, born in the U.S. in 1983, made his debut as associate conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in 2003, and in 2011 he conducted "Tosca" at the Bolshoi Theatre, where he enjoyed great success and gained a foothold in the international arena.In 2017, he was appointed Chief Conductor of the Basque National Orchestra in Spain, and from 2019 he will be Music Director of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra.
