Description:

An exhilarating work by Tuur from his native Estonia by Paavo Järvi! Born on the Estonian island of Heeumaa, Tur studied percussion, flute, and composition in Tallinn, and later became popular with the progressive rock group IN SPE. He now devotes himself to composition. Although his style is avant-garde, influenced by minimalism, spectral analysis, twelve-tone technique, and acoustic composition, his varied rhythms and stimulating sonic interest make all of his compositions highly enjoyable to listen to. Pervo Järvi was a contemporary of the composer, and the orchestra has actively featured his works as a representative of his country. The single-movement Symphony No. 9, dedicated to Paavo Järvi and subtitled "Mythos," which means myth or faith, is a large orchestral work of more than 30 minutes of colorful sound. The "Tempest Spell" (meaning "the voice that summons the storm"), which was unveiled at a concert in Japan in 2019 and became a topic of conversation, is an uplifting little piece with a distinctive rhythm. The "Tempest Spell" (meaning "the voice that calls up a storm"), which was much talked about when it was unveiled at their Japan tour in 2019, is an uplifting piece with a distinctive rhythm. The title "Sow the Wind..." is taken from the Hebrew Bible's (Old Testament) lesson in the book of Hosea, "Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind" (meaning retribution or self-inflicted retribution). The title is taken from the phrase "karma and retribution" (meaning "karma and retribution"). Naxos Japan
