The Te Deum, a hymn of celebration, has many masterpieces with magnificent orchestras. The works of the mid-18th century, when orchestras were in their infancy, are even more opulent than those of Charpentier and Lully. This latest release, produced with the full support of the Versailles event team, is a collection of two masterpieces from the reign of Louis XV. Both are masterpieces that make the most of the orchestral language of Rameau's heyday, so much so that the royal court was divided over which of the two was best suited. The Stradivarius, an ancient instrumental group based in Nantes, the ancient capital of central France, has appeared at La Folle Journée every year for more than 40 years.
