It may be humid, it may be like the rustling of grass and trees, it may be like a gale, but it is the music itself, filled with the deep love that embraces all. The reason why the great master Gallois, who has performed the masterpieces in this album with great pianists many times, wished to leave them behind in the form of a recording is the presence of his beloved pupil Kazunori Seo, who shares the same scale and sense of values. Always highly sensitive, always renewing their knowledge, and never afraid to change, their recordings are not new interpretations, but rather a constructed history itself. (Ai Terada, flutist) The flute repertoire is rich, especially in the sonata genre, and this CD contains sonatas with the most beautiful slow movements that characterized the mid-20th century. These four slow movements share a certain horizontality, purity, frankness, profundity, and exploration of the present moment.In working on these pieces, Kazunori Seo and I focused primarily on reconstructing the original lines and highlighting the various musical layers to clarify the text of the piece. We also paid attention not only to the phrasing, but also to the fine nuances that exist between the two parts, flute and piano. We have tried to make sure that this CD will be listened to again and again, and that each listen will bring out a new angle or aspect of the movement.
