Description:
Debut album of a new project by three German musicians at the forefront of the jazz and avant-garde scene. The trio's taut improvisation is subtly intertwined with electronica and noise, creating a dazzling soundscape of chaos and harmony. Room & Thread is a group based in Leipzig, eastern Germany. The group consists of Tom Schneider (sampler, piano), a member of the human-powered dance band KUF, Tobias Froehlich (double bass), who also plays in Johanna Sommer's trio, and Daniel Klein (drums/percussion), who runs Lakeland Records. This is the debut album of a remarkable new project by up-and-coming musicians who have been engaged in heated improvisational battles at the forefront of jazz and avant-garde music. The piano tone is beautiful and authentic, but the trio's performance is tense to the point of tension, and an air of tension prevails in the spaces between the sounds, where electronica and noise are casually intertwined, creating a dazzling sound world of chaos and harmony.This is a release on the Macro label of Stefan Goltmann, a one-of-a-kind producer who straddles the line between dance music and contemporary music.
