Naruyoshi Kikuchi's dub sextet, which thrilled fans with a miraculous reunion performance last year, has released its 2008 live album on analog for the first time! In celebration of the lifting of the ban on subs in April 2024, they once again made an impact with a miraculous reunion live performance. This year, they will perform their final reunion live shows in Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo, China. The project, active from 2007-10, established a unique style of "a 2-horn quintet with an engineer on stage who performs dub processing (processing of the performance sound) in real time. This album contains selected takes from their live performances at Shibuya Duo music EXCHANGE on July 17 and 18, 2008 and Akasaka BLITZ on September 1, 2008. A chemical reaction of electronic sounds and acoustic jazz that cut through the Tokyo night.The complete package includes the firey ad-lib solos by Naruyoshi Kikuchi and Shimpei Ryoke, the increasingly brilliant live effects by Purdon Kimura, and the intense drive of the rhythm section consisting of Masayasu Tsuboguchi, Masato Suzuki, and Tamaya Honda, all of which only a live performance can bring! This is a stunning live album that beautifully recreates the two original recordings, which were coolly and precisely produced in a computerized environment of studio recording and post-editing.
