And their JAPAN tour in September 2019 also impressed many people with almost packed crowds each day. In the midst of the global pandemic, Florida emo/indie rock band POHGOH holed up in the studio again with J. Robbins of JAWBOX and BURNING AIRLINES to produce their third album, "du und ich"! With catchy riffs, a dynamic worldview, Susie's presence in the voice, and satirical lyrics, this album shows the band's current fullness even more than the previous one.The four-piece band sound, with J. Robbins on Hammond organ and Gordon Withers, who is well known for his JAWBREAKER cover on cello, makes up a magnificent lineup and produces a masterpiece. Twenty-seven years after its formation, the band continues to reevaluate and reconstruct its parts in the most daring and listenable way possible to create a sound that they believe in without wavering. Since the release of their last album, "SECRET CLUB," she (they) have been nominated for reunion tours with MINERAL and JAWBREAKER, and have gone from being one local band in Florida to now having established a national reputation. Susie is currently battling a decades-long battle with multiple sclerosis (MS), but "du und ich" sounds even more hopeful than her previous work, as if she is encouraging us to do the opposite. Generally, POHGOH's fan base is centered on people who like emo/indie rock, but the sparkle of this album will appeal well to those who prefer guitar pop.This third full-length album is not just a great album, but a hymn to survival, a rebuttal to all that beats us down, the most love-filled work in POHGOH's history.
