Description:
We now know that Furtwängler's Bright Cranks can be wide or narrow on record. This means that some of the tracks are narrow in whole or in part. So, we tried to unify the wide and narrow parts of the record without changing the sound quality. The narrower parts are now wider, and to the ear that is familiar with the narrower parts, it may sound as if the musical density is reduced, but it is also true that the pleasure of hearing Furtwängler in full width is irreplaceable. The Eroica on this CD is the most standard of Furtwängler's many Eroica recordings, and while there are, of course, some superb performances, such as the Urania Eroica, this is the one that can be enjoyed with confidence overall, including the recording. Liszt's wide reissue makes it all the more apparent that this is a blazing performance, not unlike a requested performance from a record company. Furthermore, the Meistersinger Prelude is the first Bright Crank reissue on Otaken. Please enjoy it as well. (Otaken Records, Kenshi Ota) Tobu Land System
