Description:
Sweden’s SARCATOR has released their long-awaited new album! Their unique style, which blends thrash, black, death, and even punk, is one of a kind. A must-listen album for all extreme metal fans! [Includes Japanese booklet with bilingual lyrics] SARCATOR is a Swedish extreme metal band that formed 18 years ago. Centered around guitarist/vocalist Mateo Tervonen and formed by a group of young musicians, they have pursued a unique sound that, while rooted in extreme metal genres such as black metal, thrash metal, and death metal, incorporates a wide range of elements including punk, classic heavy metal, and dark rock. In 2020, they released the demo *Visions of Purgatory* and their debut album *Sarcator*. Since then, with each subsequent release—*Alkahest* (2022) and *Swarming Angels & Flies* (2025)—they have deepened their musicality and have shared the stage with acts such as Hellripper, 1349, and Midnight. Nominated for Sweden’s P3 Guld and Grammis awards, among others, they have steadily established themselves as a next-generation band leading the Nordic metal scene. Now, SARCATOR unleashes their fourth studio album, *The Ones We Follow*. On this album, they push the ferocious speed and aggression cultivated in their previous works to new extremes while pursuing a free-spirited musicality that transcends genre boundaries. They seamlessly fuse punk energy, gothic darkness, the power of classic metal, the raw intensity of dark rock, and the extreme heaviness of black and death metal, elevating it into a unique style they themselves call “Death’s Rock.” Above all, what they prioritize is not “which genre they belong to,” but rather “what the song requires.” Thanks to this approach, their songs have become sharper, more dynamic, and radiate a powerful sense of individuality. *TheOnesWeFollow* is not an album where SARCATOR looks back on their past, but rather one that fully establishes who they are right now. It is their new masterpiece, created with a clearer vision and songwriting skills while retaining the impulse and energy of youth. A must-listen for not only extreme metal fans, but all listeners who love thrash, black, death, and old-school metal! [Members] Mateo Tervonen (Guitar/Vocals) Leo Bucalle (Guitar) Jesper Rosén (Drums)
