Their 40th-anniversary concert, held on September 27, 2025, at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo, was both a culmination of their career and an intense night demonstrating their determination to soar even further into the future after reaching this milestone. The first part of this three-part concert was, surprisingly, a complete recreation of their latest album, “CRIMSON&JETBLACK.” This is truly the embodiment of leader Naoto Shibata’s unshakable conviction. It is precisely because he has absolute confidence in “the current ANTHEM” and is certain that fans will welcome it that Shibata chose to feature a complete recreation of their latest work as the first part of the anniversary concert. The 40th anniversary is not a mere celebration. It is a concept unique to Shibata: that giving their all as “the current ANTHEM” is what truly befits the band’s 40th anniversary. The second part was “Acoustic ANTHEM with Quintetto,” a collaboration with a string quintet. This was an unprecedented endeavor; having demonstrated the “culmination” of their 40-year history in the first part, ANTHEM now hinted at infinite possibilities while looking toward a “future yet to be seen.” And Part Three was "the usual ANTHEM." It was a lavish segment condensing the band’s 40-year journey—a journey so robust that every single album features a "signature song," a feat virtually unparalleled worldwide. Having completed a setlist equivalent to more than two standard live shows over the course of this four-hour, three-part performance, they proved that the current lineup of ANTHEM is the strongest in the band’s history.
