Indeed, this album is a masterpiece of Clapton's outstanding guitar technique and charm, and its influence on later rock music is immeasurable. However, it does not tell us what kind of musician John Mayall was, who left the Yardbirds after getting fed up with playing pop songs, hit it off with Clapton, who was into blues, and ended up making an album together that spotlighted his talents. Although John Mayall is known as a musician who discovered and nurtured many excellent musicians, his own music has not been talked about much. In this reissue, we present two albums as a 2-in-1, which will give you a great hint of his own musicality.What I feel from his more personal works heard on these two albums is his attitude that "a blues singer must think about expressing his own life in his music, not imitating others," as he said in a later interview, and that this is the essence and appeal of his music, which has become the core of his influence on many musicians.
