Rutwängler's first postwar return to opera." Tristan und Isolde" Act II & Act III - the first CD release from authorized sources since the Furtwängler Society of France! The first time since the Furtwängler Society of France released the recording on CD! Furtwängler won a victory in the de-Nazification trial and returned to the stage in earnest in 1947. His first opera performance was "Tristan" at his old Berlin State Opera. The sound quality was superb for the time. The sound quality was superb for its time, and the high level of German technology was astonishing. The swell of the string ensemble and the sensuous English horns in Act III were beautifully captured. At times, the roar of the orchestra is so fierce that it sounds as if it has been pushed off a precipice. A passionate and masterful performance with rich blood. If you want to hear the coveted combination of the sound of Germany's most famous opera house and Furtwängler, this is the disc for you. As for the singers, Zutthaus' Tristan is hot, hot, hot! Strangely enough, the only CD release of this performance from an authorized recording is the 1998 Furtwängler Society disc from France (not available on the general market). The "cut" part that the Chetler group calls "cut" is present in the official broadcast source. In total, more than 10 minutes are restored.Therefore, it is safe to understand that the third act is uncut. It is a pleasure to hear the English horn solo and the singing (Tristan and the shepherd). DRA also had a tape of "Tristan" with a different number, but after a comparison listening, it was simply a missing part of this recording (the sound quality remains the same).
