Opened in 1998, Benaroya Hall is the home of the Seattle Symphony and is also known for its magnificent organ, which features 4,489 pipes. This collection of French music features Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 as its centerpiece, allowing listeners to enjoy the captivating sound produced by this magnificent organ. Of course, Ravel’s numerous works are truly rich in color, and each piece possesses a clear, crisp rhythmic cut; this performance, which accurately captures the subtle nuances that could be described as both French and Spanish, deserves the highest praise.
