If the black ships come in broad daylight, this is a small smuggler's boat that crosses the sea at night and brings "new and dangerous things" to the world. While the TRAP beat, which originated in the U.S., has become the common language of the world and continues to spawn replicas, and rappers around the world are making the most of the hype on social networking sites to monetize the buzz of a single hit, JUU4E continues to create original HIP HOP by strongly expressing his own locality. His last album, "New Luk Thung" (2019), produced by Young-G, was a masterpiece that blended the Thai omnivorous ghetto song, Luk Thung, with Hip Hop, and was nominated as the best of the year by RIN (Rap is Now), an authority in Thailand, and made an impact in and outside of Thailand. It was nominated as the best of the year by Thailand's prestigious RIN (Rap is Now) and sent shockwaves throughout the country and abroad. This album is entirely self-produced by JUU4E and mixed by Young-G. The Thai-Japanese-English lyricism, flexible flow, and dubby tracks are similar to the previous album, in which JUU4E chewed HIP HOP/TRAP and completely made it his own. The songs are influenced by Malaysian music, and include the dance performance "Lon Geng" from southern Thailand, Japanese folk songs, and songs by Teresa Teng, whom he has been familiar with since he was a child. JUUU4E's output of ground-floor music easily cuts through the pretense of globalism and exoticism, as well as the self-orientalism that runs rampant in today's Asian Hip Hop. If you came across this album after browsing through the flood of information on the Internet about how hot Asian hip-hop is, it's a good chance that you're not alone. I hope you will become a fool by the lyrics that challenge the stupid world head-on, and by the sound that is hit with overwhelming freedom.
