Description:
Since her solo recital debut on November 5, 1987 at the Hitomi Memorial Auditorium of Showa Women's University, Ikuyo Nakamichi has been one of the most popular pianists in Japan. The second "30th Anniversary Release" is a live performance of the legendary all-Chopin program held at Suntory Hall during the Chopin Year 2010. This is Nakamichi's first Blu-ray release and his first video release in 12 years. The program includes eight of Chopin's most famous piano works: Waltz, Nocturne, Practice, Ballade, and Piano Sonata No. 3. Four of the pieces are performed not only on Steinway pianos, but also on Chopin-era Pleyel pianos, allowing viewers to appreciate the differences in the sound of the instruments through the musical camera work and the clear image quality that only high-definition can provide. The production was produced by the late Goro Kobayashi, who produced the biggest hit classical video product on Blu-ray, Ozawa/Berlin Philharmonic's "Pathétique".
