The most cult-favorite jazz pianist, band master, teacher, thinker, Saturnian and many other faces of jazz music, Sun Ra's previously unreleased 1986 session recordings are now available for the first time on RSD2024 in 2LP format! Originally unseen on two crude VHS tapes, the "lost" 1986 session where Sun Ra met the OVC (Outer Space Visual Communicator), an image-generating electronic creation invented by Bill Sebastian, has been reissued by Joe Rizzi and Peter Beckman on the original open-reel reels. The "lost" sessions were remastered by Joe Rizzi and Peter Beckman directly from the original reel-to-reel tapes. Included are previously unreleased versions of the classic songs "Calling Planet Earth," "Sunset On The Nile," and "Theme From The targazers," making this a gem for fans and collectors alike! Package includes stills from the original OVC video, extensive liner notes, and an interview with Bill Sebastian!
