German violinist Antje Weidhaas, who is also active as a soloist and chamber musician, has finally begun recording Beethoven's complete violin sonatas! After winning the Kreisler International Competition, the Bach International Competition, and the Joseph Joachim Hanover International Competition, Weithaas has been active as a soloist mainly in Europe, and has also formed the Arcant Quartet, performing with numerous artists in the field of chamber music. He has released numerous CDs on the C'Avi label to positive reviews. In 2022, he also made a concert tour of Japan, where he captivated Japanese audiences with his soloist and chamber music. In this collection of violin sonatas, rather than recording the works in chronological order, the emphasis is on contrasts between the works, and in this album, the works in A major and A minor have been selected.
