Also includes string quartets with quartets! A collection of string quartets by Scriabin and the Russian Futurists! This is a very rare collection of works. Artur Vincent Lhuillier was a Russian Futurist composer who attempted to compose in a unique twelve-tone technique different from Schoenberg's, and was the first avant-garde composer in the world to publish works in graphic notation. Although the string quartets in this collection have not yet reached that level of avant-garde, they are masterpieces that emit an aroma of rich romanticism with free atonality, influenced by Scriabin. Scriabin himself left no string quartets, but here we have a string quartet version of his piano sonata "Black Mass". The arrangement is as natural as if it had been composed as a string quartet from the beginning, and it is clear that Scriabin had built a world similar to Schoenberg's Pure Night and Berg's Lyric Suite with this arrangement. Vishnegradsky is known as a pioneer of microtonal music, and this second string quartet also uses microtones in a late Romantic, nationalistic, and expressionistic language.All of these works are hard to find elsewhere, so contemporary music fans must have them!
