The Kinks' third album "THE KINK KONTROVERSY" from 1965 shows the change and evolution of Ray Davies' style as a songwriter.The raw sound of the early British Invasion, combined with sophisticated lyrics and well thought-out production, makes this album a perfect companion to early hits like "Till the End of the Day" and blues-influenced songs like "Milk Cow Blues," as well as the humorous, pathos-filled "I'm on An Island" and the anxious, nostalgic "Where Have All the Good Times Gone? The album also includes a number of songs that showcase Ray Davies' ironic perspective, such as the humorous and pathos-filled "I'm on An Island," a song about loneliness that is both sad and joyful, and the uneasy nostalgia of "Where Have All the Good Times Gone?
