It has been (almost) half a century since their debut. The Sparks are an unbeatable pop duo with a cult following around the world. Since their album debut in 1971, the duo, consisting of brothers Ron and Russell Mair, has consistently created a sound world that is recognizable as Sparks, while incorporating the pop music of each era into their own, from glam to power pop, electro to dance pop, and even chamber pop. They have created a sound world that is consistently recognizable as Sparks. Last year, Sparks released a best-of album curated by the brothers themselves and a deluxe edition of their 16th album, "GRATUITOUS SAX & SENSELESS VIOLINS," to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its release. In 2020, Sparks will release their 24th album, their first in three years since 2017's "HIPPOPOTAMUS". Last year, the band posted a comment on Twitter that they were "working on a new album," which had been highly anticipated by fans, and now the full details of the album will be revealed! At this point, the band has disclosed only a few details: the album will be titled "Steady, Drip, Drip, Drip," it will be released on May 15, it will be available in multiple formats (CD and analog), and the band will tour Europe in the fall of 2020. There is too little information disclosed by the band.However, according to the recently released "album announcement video" in which the "Sparks spokesperson," a mannequin beauty, talks about the album, the Mayle brothers have put a lot of effort into the album, and some of the 14 songs on the album are considered Grammy-worthy. At the same time, the brothers also revealed that they have a musical film "ANNETTE," for which they will write the music and script, and a documentary film about Sparks in the works. The musical "ANNETTE" will be directed by Leon Carax, known for "The Lover of Pont Neuf," and will star Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard. The year 2020 is shaping up to be a busy one for Sparks. Two of the album's advance tracks, "Please Don't Fuck Up My World" and "Self-Effacing," have now been released, and if you listen to them, you can tell that Sparks' glamorous, kitschy pop sensibility has been sharpened even further. If you listen to them, you will find that Sparks' glamorous and kitschy pop sense has been sharpened. This is one song that makes us eagerly await information about the forthcoming album.
