VOILAAA" is an Afro-Tropical adventure project by "BRUNO HOVART", a producer who has been leading the French dance music scene, and this 2024 album, including the first 12-inch released in June 2024, is a huge work that swallows not only Afro but also Latin and Caribbean music. The album is a huge work that swallows not only Afro, but also Latin and Caribbean music! The signature sound of the band is their dub disco meets Afro-boogie grooves, humorous and witty lyrics and vocals, energetic Afrobeat-like horns, shimmering electric piano, and funky clavi backing. The album also includes "Sane Kunda (ft. Lass)" with a YMO-like approach, a cover of Ghanaian guitar legend EBO TAYLOR's classic "Love and Death" featuring SSW "JOAO SELVA" from Rio de Janeiro, and the much talked-about 12-inch recording of "Sane Kunda (ft. Lass)". The album also features a cover of "Too Young to Die" by JAMIROQUAI, which became a hot topic when it was released on 12"; the cumbia-tinged "Jolie Sarah" featuring PAT KALLA, a French SSW with Cameroonian roots; and the modern highlife/Afro-pop "Les Highlife" featuring the French song, "Times Have Changed". /The 12-inch "Les temps ont change" is a killer afro-disco "Fache" (literal translation: "Fury") with heavy bass, light and hot percussion, playful keyboards and horn melodies, French vocals and chorus, and a French singer with Nigerian roots, "Jolie Sarah" (literal translation: "Jolie Sarah").
