Samurai Pizza Cats is a German metalcore band formed in 2021 in Castrop-Rauxel, consisting of guitarist Daniel Hannis, vocalist Sebastian Fischer, bassist Stefan Roefer, and drummer Robin Schaefer. The band’s name is derived from the 1990s anime of the same name (“Cat Party Ninja Chronicles”), and following the release of their debut album *Your Hellcome* in September 2023, they established their position in the German metalcore scene through their energetic live performances and a sound that fuses metalcore, deathcore, and trancecore, while placing ironic, humorous, and witty lyrics at the core of their sound, establishing their place in the German metalcore scene. Their latest release, *PressStart*, includes previously released singles such as the anti-hero anthem “Super Zero,” the party-oriented “Panda Track,” and the mellow sing-along tracks “City of Gold” and “Fear No Slice.” The album features a playful narrative where the band enters a video game alongside their unique characters. The comic-style concept shines with appearances ranging from dinosaurs and penguins to pizza-eating aliens, creating a unique world that invites exploration.
