Second album from borderless cellist prodigy Tina Guo. Shanghai-born Chinese-American cellist Tina Guo, whose first album on Masterworks, "Game On!", released in 2017, was a sensational debut worldwide as an album that turned game music on its head. This time around, Tina's unmistakable fiery sound combines with sensual cello playing in an innovative classical album that features arrangements of well-known classical pieces and three original compositions. 'I began working on this album in the winter of 2018, collaborating with producer and friend Steve Mazzaro. The timeline of the album is set in the slightly distant future, in the year 3000 AD. We completed the majority of the album in 2020, keeping in mind the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. It begins with the original Moonheart, composed on my electric cello, and ends with Moonhearts in Space. The original Moonheart and Moonhearts in Space, arranged with vocals by Serge Tankian of the American rock band System of a Down, whom I personally admire, wrap around the album like bookends.Along with the adventure of revisiting classical works that I have loved since childhood, I play classical masterpieces in novel costumes, incorporating my beloved industrial, ethnic, and heavy metal elements along with various ambient and synth soundscapes, as the music of my future," says Tina Guo.
