Guedra Guedra's sound is a dazzling fusion of visionary electronic music and the musical traditions of the African continent.The project of Moroccan producer Abdellah M. Hassak, MUTANT, combines the rhythms and sounds produced by analog synths and drum machines with fragments of percussion instruments and field recordings from his travels in Morocco, Tanzania, Guinea, and elsewhere. The songs on the album celebrate the richness of African polyrhythms while challenging the reality that they have long been marginalized by technical tools and frameworks of thought shaped by Western models of logic and standardization.Mainstream music production tools are not good at capturing the depth and subtlety of non-Western cultural expressions," notes Abdellah.
