Long-awaited! The long-awaited first analog reissue of the unique pan-Latin spiritual jazz masterpiece by Francisco Mora Catlett, a Mexican-American drummer known as a former member of the San La Arkestra. He grew up in Mexico City and worked as a session musician for Capitol Records in 1968 before entering Berklee College of Music in 1970. He then became a member of the San La Arkestra and spent much of his time working with them. Mora then moved to Detroit. There, he recorded "MORA!" (1986) with Kenny Cox, known as the founder of Strata East, and Rodney Whitaker, a bassist known for his work with Roy Hargrove. In Mora's own words, this album was intended to "reveal the presence of African heritage in the Americas. The opener "AfraJum," which symbolizes this concept, is one of the most spiritual tunes on the album.Embracing yet integrating the broad spectrum of improvisation, rhythm, and jazz that has flourished in the Americas for centuries. The melody is based on Haitian, African, and Native American motifs, and is backed by Afro-Cuban-inspired percussion and the outstanding playing of Detroit veterans and icons Kenny Cox and Rodney Whitaker, who are so much more. It is a wonderful song. Other songs include "Rumba Morena," a colorful interplay of Afro-Cuban rhythms with flutes and steel pans; "Five AM," a truly wonderful solo by Kenny Cox; "Samba de Amor," a samba jazz piece reminiscent of Aiato Moreira; and "Samba Samba," a spiritual soprano saxophone piece with a beautifully melodic melody. The spiritual soprano saxophone of "Cultural Warrior" is a heartwarming song, and the epilogue "Conga Hasta La Vista" evokes the festivities of a carnival without a single cut. The original release on Mora's own AACM label is now hard to find and has become a rarity, so this first record reissue is a joyous occasion.AUSTRA, a project that has captivated the world with its mysterious voice and unique electro world, is set to release its latest album after a three-year absence. Vocalist and producer Katie Stelmanis, aka Austra, hails from Toronto, Canada, and released her debut album "Feel it Break" in 2011 on Domino, the popular UK label that Arctic Monkeys belongs to. The XXX, and Glyphs. They have steadily built up their career, touring with The XX, Grimes, and others, and have now released their latest album, "HiRUDiN". The album was produced in an environment with more freedom, as they searched for new collaborators and improvised with musicians they had never met before, such as Kamancello, a cello and chemanche ensemble; Pantayo, a quintet ensemble; and a children's choir, among others, and released the preceding singles "Anywayz", "Rhythm", and "Rhythm". The album contains 11 tracks, including the preceding singles "Anywayz" and "RiskIt".She has also hired her first co-producers, Rodeid McDonald and Joseph Chabason, who have worked with The XX, King Krule, and Adele.
