This 2007 masterpiece, with a dark and brooding atmosphere and a dramatic sound that combines heaviness and lyricism, has been reissued in a deluxe 5CD+Blu-ray edition featuring newly remastered recordings, rare tracks, demos, and more! The band was formed in 1987 by Steven Wilson (vo/g), who has been active as a solo artist in recent years, and their cutting-edge sound made them one of the most prominent bands from the 90's onward. The band's 2007 album "Fear of a Blank Planet", one of the band's best-selling albums, charted in Europe and the U.S. Billboard Top 100, and was nominated for a Grammy Award. The album includes many unreleased demo recordings/rare live recordings,This is a limited edition expanded 6 CD+Blu-ray (5CD+Blu-ray) set with a gorgeous hardcover book, reissued in '24 by Transmission Recordings in the UK. CD1 contains newly remastered material from the 2007 album "FEAR OF~", CD2 contains newly remastered material from the EP "NIL RECURRING" released in the same year, which contains songs that were created during the recording sessions for "FEAR OF~" but were not included on the album, and the intro part of "Fear Of A Blank Planet" that was used in live performances at the time. CD3 contains the intro part of "Fear Of A Blank Planet" used live at that time, the song "Always Recurring" which was later reused as part of the lyrics/melody of "What Happens Now? This is the first release/first CD release of eight demo tracks recorded by the band and Steven Wilson between '06 and '07, including "Hey Sleeper," which was only included on the 7" single that came with the tour edition LP of Steven Wilson's '21 album, THE FUTURE BITES,CD4 contains live recordings of early versions of songs from "FEAR OF~" and "NIL~", taken from the September 23, 2006 concert in Saarbrucken, Germany, some of which were broadcast on TV at the time, and CD5 contains a live recording of a studio session in April 2007, recorded for a BBC radio broadcast to promote "FEAR OF~", which has already been made available on Bandcamp and is now on CD for the first time. The studio session recorded in April '07 for BBC radio broadcast to promote "FEAR OF~", and the live album "WE LOST THE SKYLINE" released in '08, which was also recorded at the CD store "Park Avenue" in Orlando, USA. The Blu-ray contains a 5.1ch Surround/Stereo Mix of the newly remastered "FEAR OF~" and "NIL~" from '24, and "Fear Of A Blank Planet" "Way Out Of Here" and "Normal" as video content. and visual film footage of "Sleep Together" and "Anesthetize," which was filmed and broadcast by a local TV station,Includes live footage of "Fear Of A Blank Planet," "Anesthetize," and "Sleep Together" from the December '07 Koln, Germany concert, and a documentary about the making of this album.
