German conductor/violinist/composer Robert Radecke. His symphonic works are followed by a collection of chamber music works, all of which are world premiere recordings. As a conductor and educator, Radecke had a strong influence on the German music world at the end of the 19th century, but he was also a violinist and member of a quartet, and as a pianist, he showed outstanding talent as a performer with his sensational interpretation of Beethoven's sonatas. Radecke's chamber music is characterized by a rich piano part and melodies full of romantic emotion. The Fontaine Trio performing this piece is an ensemble of young German players. Their repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music. (C)RS
