Description:

Charles Lloyd's rare live performance in NYC in 1965! 180g weight vinyl re-mastered limited re-pressing! This is a 180g weight vinyl reissue in a limited pressing on Resonance Records! Charles Lloyd left the Cannonball Adderley Sextet in 1965 and recorded his second leader album "OfCourse, Of Course" for Columbia in March and May. In October of the same year, he went back to Columbia, this time with Zabo, Albert Stinson, and Pete LaRoca. It had been thought that these sessions were conducted by members assembled for the recording sessions, but with the discovery and appearance of these recordings, it became clear that the band had actually performed live with a similar lineup. This is an interesting collection of recordings made at two very different venues during the time the band was performing together: Judson Hall in Midtown and Sluggs in the East Village. The recordings are reissued by Resonance Records and vividly bring to life the different atmospheres of Judson Hall and Sluggs. The LP was re-mastered by Kevin Gray, and the CD was re-released in 2014 on CD and LP.
