Colin Carr, the immensely popular cellist in the U.K., records unaccompanied! Colin Carr is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and one of the most popular cellists in the UK. He studied under the historically renowned cellists Maurice Gendron and William Preece, and has appeared in major concert halls and festivals throughout Europe. He is now releasing J.S. Bach's Suite for Unaccompanied Cello, performed at the Wigmore Hall in May 2012. With his great technique and musical talent, and his famous instrument Matteo Goffriller, he delivers an expressive and sensitive performance that gets to the heart of the work, making this one of the best performances of this work in its many masterpieces. I have been playing this piece for decades. I have been playing this piece for decades, and no other piece is so familiar to me. I have played it many times, and each time I get a different impression from the music.This recording also had different performance times for the first and last recorded performances of the Armand in the fifth suite. The take I chose was the last recording, which was 35 seconds faster than the previous one. It was by far the better performance. I was very pleased with this coincidence. I am always meticulous, thoughtful, and careful in my playing. But such a happy thing happens. A paradox indeed! Colin Carr King International
