Blue Rondo a la Turk was formed by Mark Riley, who later formed Matt Bianco, singer/writer Chris Sullivan, vocalist Christos Torera, and others. Blue Rondo a la Turk was formed by Mark Riley, who later formed Matt Bianco, singer/writer Chris Sullivan, vocalist Christos Torera, and others. The group was at the forefront of Soho in the early 1980s, blending Latin jazz, Cuban, and urban soul with witty lyrics, catchy melodies, and a strong pop sensibility. After the release of their debut album "Chewing the Fat" in 1982, the team went their separate ways. While Mark Riley and others formed Matt Bianco, the original combo lineup reappeared in the fall of 1983 under the new name Blue Rondo, and this album was released in 1984.Forty years after its release, this is the definitive edition of the album, which includes the original tracks and alternative mixes not included on the album, as well as many rare recordings from the extensive tape archives.
