Description:
Hiroshi Arimori is a "seeker of Russian pianism" who deeply sympathizes with Russian music and devotes himself to it with sincerity. This is the long-awaited fifth volume of his life's work, a collection of Rachmaninoff's works. This ambitious work includes all six of his most popular compositions, "Musik und Drei"! Named after Schubert's collection of the same name, the young Rachmaninoff, in his early twenties, has followed "Musical Moments," one of his most important works, with "Salon Pieces," which bursts with the sensibility of a 20-year-old Rachmaninoff. After the two Bach pieces arranged by Rachmaninoff in the latter half of his career and by his cousin Giloti, an Italian polka with trumpet is placed as an encore piece, which is rarely performed. The selection of music shines with a sense that only Arimori, who is well versed in the exquisiteness of Russian piano music, could have come up with. Arimori's performance, which makes one feel even the delicate breath of the music, has been further refined and is unmatched by any other. The Italian Polka with Takaya Hattori, who supports the New Japan Philharmonic as principal trumpet player with his profound and expressive playing, and Kosuke Akimoto, an up-and-coming young pianist with a promising future who has won numerous awards in Japan and abroad, is also a must-see.
