Toyohiko Sato New Recording of Prague Lute Music circa 1700! Toyohiko Sato, a world-renowned master of the lute, will release a new recording on his own label, Nostalgia, focusing on the music of Prague around 1700, and exploring the unique charm of Czech music, which is different from both German and French-speaking music. Around 1700, Prague was a major center of European culture along with Vienna and Dresden. The works of Count Jan Antonin Rozy, who came from an aristocratic Swiss family, supported many lute players in the Prague area, and on his death, S.L. Weiss, the greatest lute prodigy of the time, came to the city to dedicate the Tombow piece to him, and the lute players who surrounded him.The collection includes a suite of beautiful melodies by Aureus Dix from the Prague National Library, a suite by Logie with sarabande and doble from a manuscript in Austria added to a suite from a manuscript in Germany, a suite of unknown authorship from the National Library of Argentina in South America, and a suite by Antony Eckstein, compiled from a manuscript in the New York Public Library. The collection includes lesser-known lute music from various sources, such as a suite by Antony Eckstein compiled from a manuscript in the New York Public Library, and a suite by Rozy, with sarabande and doble added, from an unknown manuscript in the National Library of Argentina in South America. As in previous works, the original lute Greif (11 courses) and gut strings, made more than 400 years ago, are used. Tokyo M-Plus
