This boxed set features three representative works by Kenneth MacMillan (1929-1992), a renowned British choreographer. Inspired by a ballet magazine he saw at the age of 14, MacMillan took up ballet and nine months later entered Sadler's Wells Ballet School, where he demonstrated his talent. He first worked as a dancer, but an extreme slump led him to become a choreographer, and he attracted attention with a series of ambitious works, culminating in the blockbuster hit "Romeo and Juliet," performed by Margo Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev in 1965, which established his reputation. All of his works are known for their sensuality and bold settings, and the three works included in this box set also carefully depict the essence of human nature, which is shaken by love and pain.
