Description:

André Parfenov, a pianist and arranger born in Russia in 1972, has composed Liszt's "Mephisto Waltz. He compares this series of works to the life of a human being from "birth" to "death," and instead of merely transcribing the score, he inserts highly avant-garde pieces such as "Bagatelle without Tones," which creates an element of dialogue between the 20th and 21st centuries. Finally, he places his own jazz-like piece, "Mephisto Encore," to complete the intent of the album, which was intended to be a transformative expression. The violin is played by Iuliana Munich, who has performed with Parfenov frequently. She and Parfenov play well together. Naxos Japan
