Sebastian Weigle was born in 1961. He studied horn, piano, and conducting at the Hans Eisler University of Music in Berlin, and began his career as a horn player, becoming principal horn player of the Berlin State Opera Orchestra in 1982. Encouraged by Barenboim to switch to conducting, he conducted Richard Strauss's highly acclaimed opera "The Shadowless Woman" at the Frankfurt Opera in 2003, and since 2008 he has served as general music director of the Frankfurt Opera, where his wide repertoire of Romantic works captivates audiences. In April 2019, she will become the 10th Permanent Conductor of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, where she is expected to play an even more active role. Included in this box is a collection of Strauss symphonic poems and symphonies conducted by Weigle, a project launched in 2014 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Richard Strauss' birth, from the 2011 recording of "Life of Hero" to the 2018 recording of "Zarathustra, From the 2011 recording of "Life of a Hero" to the 2018 recording of "Zarathustra," Weigle conveys Strauss's exquisitely orchestrated music in a fully nuanced performance.The program includes rarely heard works such as "Macbeth," "Symphony No. 2," "From Italy," and other unusual pieces, allowing the audience to fully enjoy Weigle's skill in Strauss' playing. The cello in "Don Quixote" is played by Korean-German cellist Isan Enders. In 2016, he visited Japan to perform J.S. Bach's "Suite for Unaccompanied Cello" in its entirety to great acclaim.
