This is a concentrated collection of the charms of François Couperin on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of his birth this year (2018). The album includes many of the clavesan pieces that were at the center of his creative activities, but it also includes the ensemble (consort) collections "People of the Nations," "Royal Consert," "Fusion of Interests," and secular songs, covering almost all of his wide-ranging works except his religious works. The star of the show is, after all, Brice Saie, the director of the entire collection. He has succeeded in creating a musical portrait of Couperin's world that is not limited to his clavecin compositions. In addition to Christophe Rousset's trusted viol and cello player Jun Sakai, the members of "La Chambre Claire," who have performed with Niquet and other great names in the world of classical music, also perform a virtuosic performance.
