Pizzetti, a modern Italian composer, is known as one of the composers who planned a "revival of instrumental music" in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century, but he actually left several songs as well. London-based British pianist Emma Abbate, who has devoted herself to the revival of "unknown songs of the 20th century," including a collection of songs by Castelnuovo-Tedesco (RES10141), has also played a role in introducing unique works on this Pizzetti disc. The songs, which use not only Italian but also Greek, French, and other diverse texts, include not only cheerful Italian-style songs but also monologues that sometimes contain passionate sentiments, and Hipp's singing and Abbate's piano accurately convey the composer's overflowing thoughts and feelings.
