Haruhiko Kono, a well-known Japanese musician who has been involved in the Cuban music scene for many years, is the leader of this project, which combines the folk music of his native Japan with Cuban music. The members of the group include Emilio Vega (Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Irakere) on piano, Roberto Valquez (Isaac Delgado) on bass, and other top-notch musicians. The group's arrangements of melodies familiar to all Japanese, such as "Soran-bushi," "Hanagasa Ondo," and "Chikuko-bushi," are arranged with a variety of Cuban rhythms and Latin jazz-like harmonies, providing a fresh mix of music that is sure to please.
