Description:
This is a collection of works by Arnold Griller, a composer whose father was the world-renowned British violinist Sidney Griller. Growing up surrounded by many musicians, Griller studied at the Royal College of Music in Manchester and then went to California to study with Darius Milhaud. Around the same time, he met Ernesto Bloch, who had a strong influence on him. Each of Griller's works is unique and individual, with a balance of exciting and emotionally rich musical ideas. The music is rich in ideas, from the intense rhythms reminiscent of his teachers Milhaud and Stravinsky to the baroque style of Scarlatti's works. Naxos Japan
