Description:
It wasn't just his guitar that set Jimi on fire; this album features a live performance at the LA Forum in April 1969. This show is one of Jimi Hendrix's most acclaimed performances and has been long awaited for an official release. Originally recorded for an FM special and previously released as part of a box set, this is the first time it has been released on its own. This was the LA Forum show of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's last tour with Mitch Mitchell (d) and Noel Redding (b), and the performance is of a high level that is hard to believe that it was before the breakup of the band. This album was newly mixed by Eddie Kramer from the original 8-track master tape. The album comes with a commentary by Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), who saw this performance at the time, and is vividly restored in its new look for the first time in almost 20 years.
